In this post we represent you a very useful ayurvedic drink called digestive yogurt drink or digestive Lassi. This drink kindles your digestive fire and calms down Vata in your body. You can have it with your lunch or dinner or before bed.
Yogurt or Kefir 1/4 of Cup
Hot Water 3/4 of Cup
1 Pinch of Saffron Powder + 1/4 Teaspoon of Cardamom Powder + 1 Pinch of Nutmeg Powder + 1 Pinch of Rose Powder + 1-2 Pinches of Rock Slat
1/4 Teaspoon of Kalonji (Black Seeds) Powder or Oregano Powder + 1 Pinch of Rose Powder + 1-2 Pinches of Rock Slat
1/4 Teaspoon of Fennel Powder + 1/4 Teaspoon of Cumin Powder + 1/4 Teaspoon of Coriander Powder + 1-2 Pinches of Rock Slat
Fill 1⁄4 cup with yogurt or kefir and then pour some hot water on it. Mix the hot water and yogurt with a fork well until the mixture looks smooth. Now fill the rest of the cup with hot water and add one of the spice mixtures. Mix the ingredients thoroughly with a spoon (of course it is much better if you mix the ingredients in a blender for 1-2 minutes). Your digestive yogurt drink is ready!
You should drink it warm (like a tea) with your meal or 2 hours after your meal.
Digestive yogurt drink or lassi is one of the most effective remedies for calming down the Vata dosha. When you have this warm, spiced drink with or after your meal, it is like adding digestive juice to your digestive tube!
You can add different spice mixtures to your yogurt drink based on your Prakruti and Vikruti. The spice mixtures that are recommended above are balanced and can be used for most people with different constitutions.
However, if you are suffering from high pitta symptoms use 1pinch cardamom powder + 1pinch rose powder + 1-2pinches rock salt instead.
If the dominant dosha in your constitution is Kapha or you are suffering from Kapha imbalance symptoms use goat yogurt or goat kefir.
