Ice Cream…!?

By Setareh Kiumarsi

How and when should ice cream be eaten…?!

Cow’s milk is extremely cold and moist, making it difficult for many people to digest. Now, imagine adding sugar (which itself is phlegm-producing) and eating it frozen, especially right after a meal. This creates phlegm upon phlegm… a thick glob of mucus… essentially turning it into a toxin.

In general, consuming cold foods (ice cream, cold fruits, cold drinks, etc.) is not good, because it’s like throwing a piece of ice or a snowball on the digestive fire in your gut, disrupting the digestion process completely.

But if you really want to eat ice cream:

Ice creams made without milk like fruit-based ice creams or sorbets (made with fruit juice) where the sweetness comes from the fruit itself…are much better and easier to digest.

But if you insist on eating regular ice cream…?!

– Never eat ice cream immediately after a meal. Ice cream is frozen milk, and consuming it right after food fills your stomach with acidic enzymes that make the milk curdle, filling your digestive tract with toxins.

– Wait at least 3 hours after eating before having ice cream.

– Sprinkle cardamom powder and a little honey on top for better digestion.

– Do not eat ice cream in cold seasons! The harm of consuming ice cream in winter is magnified greatly. Only enjoy ice cream in summer.

– Instead of store-bought ice cream, make homemade versions with fruit juice, almond milk, and honey — such as almond milk ice cream.
