Cucumber from the Ayurvedic Perspective…?!

Did you know that cucumber is an extremely cooling vegetable and one of the best natural remedies for Pitta-related (biliary) disorders?!

However, eating too much of it especially alone and without its balancing spices during the autumn and winter seasons is not a good idea?!

Cucumber can simultaneously aggravate both Vata (air/dryness) and Kapha (phlegm/moisture) doshas. It can cause bloating and lead to water retention in the body?!

Also, cucumber is classified as a vegetable, not a fruit?! so it should never be eaten together with fruits!

If you eat cucumber with its peel and sprinkle a bit of salt and fennel on top, it will help with digestion and bring Vata and Kapha back into balance.
