Iron-Boosting Snacks

Do you struggle with anemia?

Add the following snacks to your daily diet to help build healthy blood and energy levels.

Iron-Boosting Smoothie:

Blend the following ingredients together and enjoy:

 Half a medium mango

 ½ to 1 cup unsweetened apple juice

 A handful of grapes

 A pinch or two of cardamom

When mango season ends, replace the mango with 1–2 dates instead.

Carrot & Beet Juice:

Juice one medium raw beet and two carrots.

Add a pinch of cumin powder, and drink it with breakfast or as a mid-morning snack.

Ojas Iron-Enhancing Drink

Add the following ingredients to a blender:

 10–15 pistachios

 1 cup warm water

 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (preferably black sesame)

 A pinch of saffron+ Two pinches of cardamom+ A pinch of dried rose petals+ A pinch of vanilla+2 teaspoons honey

Blend well and enjoy this nourishing drink a few times a week as a healthy snack.

Digestive Lassi

Drink this 1–2 times a day to support digestion and blood formation:

¼ cup yogurt (or camel milk yogurt)+ ¾ cup hot water+¼ teaspoon turmeric+¼ teaspoon cumin+¼ teaspoon dried rose petals+ A pinch of salt

Bone Broth (for non-vegetarians)

If you’re not vegetarian, drink 1–2 cups of chicken or lamb bone broth daily.

To prepare the broth:

Add chicken or lamb bones to a pot of water along with one chopped onion, turmeric, saffron, coriander seeds, salt, and lemon juice.

Cover and simmer over low heat for several hours.

After cooling, remove the excess fat from the surface and store it in the fridge.

Warm a cup before drinking, add a little lemon and salt, and enjoy it with lunch or as a snack.
