After waking up, take care of your beautiful eyes…
But how…?
Do your eyes get crusty when you wake up? Do you feel tired, heavy, or sleepy? Well, they just need some cleansing and care…
In half a glass of boiling water, add 1 teaspoon of black tea (or 1 tea bag), ½ teaspoon of Triphala powder (or haritaki powder), 1 teaspoon of coriander seeds.
Let the mixture boil. You can also add a pinch of salt (preferably pink salt) and 1 teaspoon of honey.
After it boils and cools down, strain the mixture, pour it into a small bowl, open and close your eyes in it, and wash your eyes with the solution. (It might sting a little—don’t worry, that’s normal.)
Now soak a cotton pad in rosewater and gently rub it over your eyelids.
If you have the time, try to do this eye rinse daily.
This mixture not only supports your eye health, but it’s also helpful in treating various eye conditions (like glaucoma, cataracts, eye infections, excessive tearing, and more).
Too complicated? Thinking, “Who has the patience to make this weird mix?”
How about washing your precious eyes with a cup of strained, cooled chamomile tea instead?
Still too much?
Then try this. In ¼ cup of cooled, boiled water, dissolve a pinch of salt (preferably pink salt) and 1–2 drops of honey. Pour it into a small bowl, open and close your eyes in it to wash them (again—it might sting a little, but it’s okay).
Then soak a cotton pad in rosewater and gently wipe your eyelids.
Eye Exercises – What else can you do?
Whenever you have a moment, try some eye exercises:
Sit comfortably on the floor or in a chair.
– Look to the left, then to the right. Do this 3 times.
– Look up at the ceiling, then down at the floor. Again, 3 times.
– Roll your eyes in a clockwise direction 3 times. Then roll them counterclockwise 3 times.
– Now, stare at the farthest point in the room for a few seconds, then shift your gaze to the tip of your nose for a few seconds.
– Next, rub your palms together firmly to generate heat, then place them over your eyes. Open your eyes and gaze into the darkness behind your hands for 30 seconds.
For the final step, join your index, middle, and ring fingers together and gently massage around your eyes and over your sinuses in a circular, clockwise motion.
Make a little pact with yourself. Each week, add one small, effective, healing Ayurvedic habit into your life. How does that sound?
May both your eyes—and you—be full of health.
