Digestive Salad (Anti-Kapha Salad1)

Digestive salad or anti-kapha salad is a combination of ingredients with special ratio which can help your body to digest the food easier. Eat this salad with mucusy foods (Kapha provoking foods) or high-fat foods like carbs, protein or oily foods.The dry quality of the ingredients of this salad will act like a sponge and absorb the mucus and fat  from these foods to itself. …This  digestive salad will act like an antidote to the foods that make you gain weight.

In lunch, this salad can comprise 30-50% of your plate (this percentage varies based on your prakruti and vikruti).  The more Kapha imbalance, you have the more salad you should have in your plate. In dinner, if you want to have a light meal that helps you to burn fat, you can have a bowl of this salad with a cup of hot digestive tukrum (you can find the recipe of digestive tukrum in cooking section of our website).If you were too hungry, you can add a piece of chicken, or 5-10 soaked pistachios or almonds or sunflower seeds, or 2 Tbsp quinoa to this salad.

For making this anti-kapha digestive salad you will need these ingredients:

1celery , 2carrots, 1 tomato,
2 handfuls of fresh parsley,
a handful of fresh basil,
20-30 pumpkin seeds,
olive oil , lemon or lime,
saffron, turmeric, colander,
oregano, rosemary, salt

So how should you make this Salad?

Chop the celery in small pieces, add some olive oil to a pan and add a pinch of saffron, and some turmeric and coriander to the oil.

Fry the spices for a minute in the oil, then add the celery to the pan with some water. Put the lid on and let the celery become completely cooked. Celery is a cold and dry vegetable and is very Vata provoking. As a result, it should always be consumed completely cooked and spiced.

Now shred the carrot, and chop the tomato, parsley and basil in small pieces. When the celery is completely cooked, mix all the ingredients in addition to the pumpkin seeds, olive oil, lemon (or lime), oregano, rosemary, coriander and salt (as needed). Make the salad completely tasty with the lemon, spices and salt.
