Ananda Menstrual Tea

By Setareh Kiumarsi

Do you experience pelvic pain, severe mood swings, or spotting a few days before your period?

Start drinking Ananda’s menstrual herbal tea 3–4 days before your period. Drink one cup every hour, starting two hours after each meal.

Ingredients (whole or seed form, not powdered):

 Fennel (2 parts)

 Rosemary (1 part)

 Lemon balm (1 part)

 Thyme (1 part)

 Chamomile (1 part)

 Rose petals (1 part)

Preparation:

Add one teaspoon of the herbal mixture to a cup of boiling water and let it steep. After steeping, add a few drops of fresh lemon juice, one teaspoon of honey, a pinch of salt, and a pinch of saffron.

Additional Tips:

2–3 days before your period, limit foods such as legumes, raw cold vegetables (e.g., lettuce, cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli, celery, Brussels sprouts), potatoes, highly gas-producing foods, spicy seasonings, and fried or hard-to-digest foods.

Keep your lower back, hips, and pelvic area warm using a wool scarf, hot water bag, or electric heating pad.

This tea can help reduce cramps and bloating and support a more balanced mood during your premenstrual days.

2–3 days before your period, try to keep your lower back, sides, and pelvic area warm using a wool scarf, a hot water bag, or an electric heating pad.
