Pizza… This Delicious Creation!

For many people, pizza is one of the most delicious things in the world! But… have you ever wondered why we feel so heavy after eating it?!

That’s because most pizzas are made from a combination of three very phlegmatic, sticky, and hard-to-digest ingredients:

Lots of cheese, thick white-flour dough, and various processed meats like sausages or pepperoni!

Did you know that according to Ayurveda, the combination of cheese and animal protein is considered one of the most toxic food combinations?! That’s because both of these foods are already difficult to digest on their own! and when combined, they overload the digestive system. They’re also both full of saturated fats, which can increase the risk of heart disease and stroke!

How to make pizza the right way…?!

Make your own homemade pizza! Instead of using thick, store-bought dough made with white flour, prepare a thin whole-wheat crust and mix in some digestive spices like turmeric, cumin, thyme, fennel, rosemary, nigella seeds, or coriander.

Did you know that authentic Italian pizzas have a very thin crust and are nothing like the Iranian thick, heavy ones we often see?!

Use less cheese, and sprinkle some digestive spices like (black pepper, cumin, or coriander) on top of it! If you can, replace cow’s cheese with goat cheese, which is lighter and much easier to digest.

Never mix cheese with meat or other animal proteins…

Instead, fill your pizza with lots of vegetables.. onions, bell peppers, spinach, scallions, basil, carrots, and more!

The fiber in these veggies acts like a sponge, absorbing the heaviness of the dough and cheese and helping your digestion!

So, a healthy pizza = a thin-crust, whole-wheat, veggie-rich, lightly cheesy, and spice-infused pizza!

Enjoy every bite
