Gomukhasana – Matsyasana – Setu Bandhasana

Has your spine started to curve, and do you often find yourself hunching forward?

Many people think slouching only affects their posture and appearance — but did you know that it can seriously disrupt your digestive process too?

Take a moment right now and notice your spine… is it straight or curved?

When you hunch, your esophagus and stomach are pushed backward, and the valve between them is forced upward. In other words, an upward movement in your digestive tract replaces the natural downward flow — digestion becomes disturbed, leading to problems like acid reflux, heartburn, and indigestion.

The digestive process always follows a downward direction:

When you swallow food, it passes from your mouth into the esophagus, then into the stomach, then the small intestine, then the large intestine — and finally, the waste and toxins are eliminated from your body.

By practicing Gomukhasana (Cow Face Pose), Matsyasana (Fish Pose), and Setu Bandhasana (Bridge Pose), you strengthen the muscles around your shoulders and back, correct spinal curvature, and help realign all parts of your digestive tract into their natural position.

This alignment promotes the proper downward movement of food through the system, improving digestion, absorption, and elimination.
