Did you know that potatoes are cold and dry, weaken digestive fire, slow down digestion, and can cause constipation? They are considered beneficial for people with fast metabolism or hyperactive thyroid?!

Especially, fried potatoes (especially with vegetable oils) are very hard to digest and can fill the digestive tract with undigested toxins!

Foods that make potato digestion difficult:

Combining potatoes with rice, starches, bread, red meat, eggs, or cheese makes digestion harder and fills the gut with undigested phlegm. These foods are all mucous-forming; when digested, they act like sticky mucus. So, when combined with potatoes, the digestion process becomes very slow… For example, think of steak with mashed potatoes, cheeseburger with fries, or chips with cheese…all these combinations are very hard to digest and leave undigested phlegm in the intestines!

So how to consume potatoes properly?!

Always cook potatoes with a little natural oil (like coconut oil, olive oil, ghee, etc.) and digestive spices (such as turmeric, black seed, fennel, cumin, etc.).

In general, foods made mostly of potatoes (like baked potatoes, mashed potatoes, French fries, chips with cheese, etc.) are hard for the digestive tract to process.

It’s better if potatoes do not exceed 20–30% of your plate and are consumed alongside warm vegetables (like carrots, spinach, parsley, basil, green onions, beets, etc.).
