Bananas from the Perspective of Ayurveda…?!

موز از دیدگاه طب آیورودا

Banana is a nourishing fruit, rich in fiber, potassium, vitamin B6, vitamin C, and magnesium. It is traditionally used to treat diarrhea, dry cough, and palpitations. It is a good remedy for very thin people and is considered fattening, as it helps in muscle and fat formation in the body;

However, because of its very heavy quality, banana produces a lot of moisture in the body. Therefore, people whose body already has excessive moisture should avoid overconsumption.

Also, individuals who are overweight, prone to acidity, have respiratory allergies, persistent phlegm in the throat, runny nose in the mornings, frequent colds, migraines or headaches, or sensitive and acne-prone skin should consume banana sparingly.

What balances banana…?!

Sprinkle cardamom or cloves on banana and eat it with apple. In Ayurveda, banana is considered warm and moist, while apple is cool and dry. Their contrasting qualities help balance each other.

Be careful: never combine banana with milk, as this is considered one of the most toxic combinations in Ayurveda.

Also, using banana in bread or cake recipes is not recommended, because banana is heavy and phlegm-producing. When combined with flour, it creates a sticky and hard-to-digest mixture.
