Gotten through COVID but your sense of taste hasn’t fully returned?
Use the following home remedies to help bring it back:
Clean the coating or buildup on your tongue 7 to 14 times, once or twice daily, using a spoon or tongue scraper.
Next, do oil pulling with sesame oil or a 1:1 mix of coconut oil and sweet almond oil.
How? Swish 1–2 tablespoons of oil in your mouth for a few minutes, then spit it out. (Be careful not to swallow the oil or gargle it.)
What’s next? After oil pulling, it’s very helpful to rinse and gargle with cooled tea made from haritaki or clove.
How to make it?
In 1 cup of boiling water, add 1 tsp of haritaki powder + 2–3 whole cloves + a pinch or two of salt. Let it steep. (If you don’t have haritaki, clove tea alone is also beneficial. Triphala is also a good alternative.)
