The Benefits of Spinach

How can we enjoy this highly nutritious leafy green? And what ailments can it help with?

Spinach acts as a natural laxative… You can use it to make a perfect digestive salad:

Finely or coarsely chop the following vegetables (depending on your taste) and mix them together:

2 handfuls of fresh spinach, 1 handful of fresh basil or garden cress, 1 cooked and seasoned celery stalk, 1 tomato, 5–10 chopped pistachios or almonds, fresh lemon juice, olive oil or sesame oil, and a pinch of salt, thyme, garlic powder, and sumac to taste… Bon appetit.

How about making a blood-enriching and detoxifying smoothie with it?

Blend together 1 carrot**, 1 small unpeeled cucumber, and 1 handful of spinach with 1 cup of warm water. Add 1–2 teaspoons of lemon juice, 2–3 teaspoons of honey, and a pinch of salt. Mix well and enjoy it as breakfast or a mid-morning snack…

By the way, this smoothie can also help reduce eye pressure!

More amazing benefits:

Lowers fever: Drink a smoothie made with spinach and garden cress during fever.

Cleanses the lungs:

Blend together 1 handful of fresh spinach, ½ teaspoon of coriander seeds (or 1 handful of fresh coriander), ¼ teaspoon of turmeric, 1 cup of warm water, 1–2 teaspoons of lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and 1–2 teaspoons of honey. Enjoy this smoothie for breakfast or as a light snack.

Strengthens and thickens hair:

Boil spinach and fenugreek leaves together to make a concentrated decoction. After cooling and straining, apply it to your scalp and hair one hour before showering.

Helps relieve hemorrhoids:

Try making a leek and spinach frittata (kuku).

Soothes sore throat:

Make a decoction of spinach and turmeric, and gargle with it several times throughout the day.

Supports underactive thyroid:

Include cooked spinach with cumin in your diet regularly.

Who should be cautious?

-Raw spinach may cause bloating in people with sensitive digestion ,better to eat it cooked.

– It may trigger headaches in some individuals.
