Varicose Veins

Navasana

Navasana – Viparita Karani

Do you have varicose veins?

Does seeing the visible lines of blood vessels on your legs make you feel sad every time you look at them?

Ever wondered how varicose veins appear in the first place?

Think about the veins in your legs — they are responsible for moving blood back and forth between your heart and the tips of your toes. On its way back to the heart, since the legs are lower than the heart, the blood must move upward, against gravity.

Inside these returning veins, there are small valves that act like one-way doors. Their job is to let blood flow upward only. But due to factors like poor diet and lifestyle, prolonged standing, excess weight, lifting heavy objects, or pregnancy, these valves become weak or damaged. The veins lose their elasticity, blood starts pooling instead of rising, and pressure builds up inside the veins, causing them to stretch, bulge, and become visible under the skin.

So, how can we help the blood flow upward again through the veins of the lower body?

By practicing Navasana (Boat Pose) and Viparita Karani (Legs-Up-the-Wall Pose).

When performing these poses — or any posture where the lower body is placed higher than the upper body — you naturally assist the upward return of blood toward the heart.

What else can we do to relieve varicose veins?

Mix equal parts of black seed oil, castor oil , and sweet almond oil in a bowl. Warm it slightly and gently massage your legs — especially the affected veins — for 10–15 minutes every day.

Massage from the ankles upward toward the knees, and from the knees toward the hips.

Use circular, clockwise motions directly over the damaged veins.

Another helpful remedy:

Mix the following herbs in powder form in the proportions below:

Clove (3 parts) + Black seed (2 parts) + Marshmallow root (1 part)

Take 1 teaspoon of this blend daily, mix it with a little warm water to form a soft paste, and apply it directly on the affected veins for 15–20 minutes.

Stay full of health and vitality
