Vaginal Dryness

Is your vagina dry? Do you experience reduced vaginal lubrication during sexual intercourse?

Here’s a gentle Ayurvedic approach to relieve vaginal dryness and improve natural lubrication.

Oil Tampons
Two to three times a week, at night before bed, soak a tampon in coconut oil, sweet almond oil, or a 50/50 mix of both. Lie on your back and insert the tampon into your vagina. Leave it in overnight. These oils are soothing, nourishing, and help restore moisture to vaginal tissues.

Herbal Sitz Bath (Vaginal Steam or Soak)
Combine the following herbs in the specified volume ratios. Boil 2 tablespoons of the mixture in 4 cups of water for 10 minutes:

Mallow – 1 + Psyllium husk – 1 + Licorice root – 1 + Lightly dried crushed jujube – 1/2

Strain the decoction, then add 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. Pour the warm liquid (not hot enough to burn) into a large basin or a Sitz bath bowl (you can place it on the floor or set it over a toilet seat). Sit in it for about 10–15 minutes.

Optional: Medicinal Tampon
You can also soak a tampon in a concentrated version of the above herbal decoction. Lie down and gently insert the tampon into your vagina. Leave it in for a while to allow the herbs to soothe and hydrate the tissues.
