Setu-Bandha-Sarvangasana

Baddha Konasana, Supta Baddha Konasana, Setu Bandha Sarvangasana

Have you been diagnosed with cysts, fibroids, or polyps in your reproductive system?

Has your uterine wall thickened, or do you have sluggish ovaries?

Are your menstrual cycles becoming shorter and more frequent?

Is your period blood thick, sticky, or full of clots — or do you experience long spotting before or after your period?

In Ayurveda, these issues occur due to an imbalance in the Kapha dosha— simply put, when the reproductive system becomes overly moist, excess dampness or bad phlegm makes the environment sticky. Over time, this sticky phlegm accumulates and forms lumps such as cysts, fibroids, polyps, or other masses.

What to do:

By practicing Baddha Konasana (Bound Angle Pose), Supta Baddha Konasana (Reclined Bound Angle Pose), and Setu Bandha Sarvangasana (Bridge Pose), you open the pelvic area, stretch the muscles around the uterus and ovaries, help release toxins accumulated in the pelvic region, and increase the circulation of fresh, oxygenated blood to the uterus and reproductive organs.

What else to do:

If you have ovarian cysts, fibroids, or polyps, endometriosis, a thickened uterine lining, sluggish ovaries, sticky or clot-filled menstrual blood, frequent periods, or long spotting before or after menstruation, this oil massage routine can help reduce symptoms and cleanse the reproductive system.

Three to four times a week, massage your lower back, sides, navel area, lower abdomen, and ovaries in circular, clockwise motions for 5–10 minutes using equal parts of:

Castor oil + Black seed oil + Bitter almond oil.

If you live outside Iran and don’t have access to these oils, you can use Kapha Massage Oil by Banyan Botanicals.

After the massage, fill a bathtub with warm water and sit in it for 10–15 minutes. If you don’t have a bathtub, fill a basin with warm water and sit under the warm shower while placing the basin beneath you.
