Tongue Cleaning and Its Benefits

by Setareh Kiumarsi

Tongue cleaning offers a range of powerful benefits. But why exactly is it so important? Like many people, you may wake up in the morning with a bad taste in your mouth and a thick white or yellow coating on your tongue. Did you know that this coating consists partly of toxins that accumulate in your digestive tract overnight? And the thicker the coating, the more it suggests a buildup of toxins in your body.

So, what should you do to remove this layer of toxins from your tongue?

Surprisingly, bad breath during the day often isn’t caused by dirty teeth, but by this toxic coating on your tongue. The tongue actually acts as a map of your internal organs—each section corresponds to a different organ in your body. (You can see this mapped out in the adjacent image.)

Cleaning your tongue is very simple. You can easily remove this coating using a spoon. Just scrape your tongue gently 7 to 14 times each morning. This not only cleans your mouth, but also stimulates your internal organs and supports their function.

It’s almost like treating yourself to a free session of acupuncture and helping the body release toxins with ease. Definitely give it a try.
