Mindful Eating

Chew each bite thoroughly, savor it, feel it with your whole being, enjoy it, consciously mix it with your saliva, and only swallow when it’s soft and ready.

But why…?

How do you usually eat your meals?
Fast? In a rush? Standing up? Behind the wheel?
While watching stressful political news full of sadness, pain, and fear?
While scrolling through Instagram?

The food you bring into your body deserves respect and attention…

– Set a routine and time for your meals—and commit to it.
– During meals, make your food the center of your attention. Engage with it, almost like a loving interaction. Focus all five senses on what you’re eating.
– Try using a teaspoon or a small fork instead of a big spoon. This helps you take smaller, gentler bites instead of oversized mouthfuls.
– Chew each bite thoroughly, taste it fully, feel it completely, enjoy it, consciously let it blend with your saliva, and swallow only when it’s soft and ready.
Did you know your saliva is full of powerful enzymes? Stronger than any digestive pill, it helps break down carbs and fats effectively.
– While eating, slow down your breathing. Between each bite, treat yourself to a deep, conscious breath.

Make a little pact with yourself.Add one small, effective, and healing Ayurvedic habit into your life each week. How does that sound?

Be full of health.
