Suffering from skin issues like acne, hives, eczema, psoriasis, and more? In the previous post, we discussed the root causes of skin problems and the dietary restrictions that help manage them.

Today, let’s look at a detox plan that can give your skin a much-needed refresh. It’s a light regimen that most people without serious or special medical conditions can follow.

Wake up around 6 a.m. and, on an empty stomach, drink one glass of warm water with:
2 pinches of turmeric
1 pinch of coriander seeds
a few drops of lemon juice
1 pinch of salt
1 teaspoon of honey
(If you have high blood pressure, use pink Himalayan salt instead.)

After 30–45 minutes, it’s time for breakfast.

For breakfast, lunch (around 12–1 p.m.), and dinner (around 6–7 p.m.), have a bowl of digestive salad with a cup of Ananda’s fatty liver herbal tea:

Digestive Salad:
Chop the following raw or cooked vegetables in your preferred size and mix them with olive oil, lemon juice, and salt:
1 part of sprouted mung beans or celery or cooked cilantro (seasoned with turmeric)
2 parts raw carrot
2 parts raw parsley or basil
1 part raw tomato

Ananda Fatty Liver Herbal Tea:
Use whole herbs (not powdered), mixed in equal parts:

Milk thistle + Rosemary + Dandelion + Nettle + Rose petals + Lemon balm

If your blood pressure is usually low, double the amount of lemon balm and rosemary.

Steep 1 teaspoon of the mix in a cup of boiling water. Before drinking, add a few drops of lemon juice, a pinch of salt, and 1 teaspoon of honey.

Two hours after each meal, drink a cup of the liver tea every hour.

Also, drink fresh coriander juice twice a day:

Blend a handful of fresh coriander with ⅓ cup of warm water, 2 fingertipfuls of fennel powder, and 1 teaspoon of honey. Strain and drink.
(If your blood pressure is usually low, add ⅓ cup of lemon balm hydrosol to the mix.)

What about snacks?
Have a bowl of steamed apple and 2–3 dried apricots.
Or drink a cup of carrot/celery or carrot/apple juice (3 parts carrot to 1 part celery or apple).

Do the salad diet for 1 to 3 days, depending on your physical strength. After that, follow it up with one day of soup detox.

The soup detox follows the same routine, except you’ll have a bowl of digestive soup instead of salad for each meal:

How to make the cleansing soup:
Sauté some onion in olive oil. Add a pinch of saffron, turmeric, and coriander seeds. Add a small piece of chicken breast (or if you’re vegetarian, replace it with 20 peeled, soaked almonds). Add carrots, parsley, spinach, cilantro, and celery—twice as much carrot and parsley as cilantro and celery. Add some quinoa and rolled oats. Season again with saffron, turmeric, and coriander seeds. Make sure about 70% of the soup is made of vegetables and the remaining 30% is chicken and grains. Add lemon juice to taste.

This detox is a lot like intermittent fasting. Don’t do intense workouts during it. Be kind to your body so you can keep going. If it helps, try repeating it every month or two.

In the next post, I’ll share home remedies for acne.

Be full of health.
