Malasana – Marjariasana – Bitilasana
Struggling with constipation?
Do you wish you could finally experience that feeling of lightness after a complete bowel movement every day?
In Ayurveda, constipation is primarily caused by an imbalance in the Vata dosha.
An imbalance in Vata means an excess of coldness and dryness in the body.
Imagine your intestine as a tunnel, and the stool as a boat that’s supposed to move smoothly downward through it.
If there’s water in the tunnel, the boat moves easily — but if the tunnel is dry, the boat gets stuck.
Similarly, when your intestinal walls lack moisture and lubrication, the downward movement of waste slows down, resulting in constipation.
What to do?
By practicing Malasana (Garland Pose), Marjariasana (Cat Pose), and Bitilasana (Cow Pose), you stimulate downward movement in the intestines and strengthen the abdominal muscles.
These contractions and expansions increase peristaltic motion, helping stool move downward.
At the same time, the liver, pancreas, stomach, and intestines are gently compressed, stimulating the secretion of stomach acid, insulin, bile, and digestive enzymes.
In other words, your digestive fire (Agni) is reignited, and the processes of digestion, absorption, and elimination begin to function effectively again.
