Gomukhasana
Are your breasts swollen, inflamed, or painful? Or have some uninvited guests like cysts, fibroadenomas, abscesses, or benign tumors appeared?
In Ayurveda, these problems occur due to an imbalance of the Kapha dosha — simply put, when the breast area becomes overly moist, the excess dampness or bad phlegm makes the tissue sticky. This sticky phlegm first shows up as swelling and inflammation. If it isn’t released, it gradually moves deeper into the breast tissue, hardens, and turns into sticky lumps such as cysts, fibroadenomas, or tumors.
What to do:
Practicing Gomukhasana (Cow Face Pose) opens the chest, stretches the muscles around the shoulders and breasts, helps remove toxins accumulated in the chest area, and improves the flow of fresh, oxygenated blood to the breast tissue.
What else:
Two or three times a week, about ten minutes before showering, massage your breasts with castor oil as follows:
Apply castor oil to your hands and massage each breast from the center of the chest outward toward the armpit (thumb above the breast, four fingers below). Then massage the whole breast and underarm area in gentle, clockwise circular motions.
Castor oil has cleansing and lubricating properties. This massage helps the accumulated toxins and phlegm in the breasts return to the lymphatic system to be gradually expelled from the body. It’s also an effective method to help prevent breast cancer, cysts, and fibroids.
If you have a malignant tumor, this method is not recommended.
Another remedy:
Mix the following herbs in powder form in the given ratios:
Clove (3) + Cinnamon (1) + Ginger (¼) + Lotus tree (3) + Myrtle (3)
Two or three times a week, mix 1–2 teaspoons of this powder with a little hot water to make a soft paste. Apply it to the area of the breast where the cyst, lump, or fibroadenoma exists. Leave it on for 15–20 minutes, then rinse off. You can also use the Ananda face mask mixture for this purpose.
This treatment is also suitable for people dealing with breast cancer.
