How about experiencing a better feeling through massage and oiling the body?
Massage is one of the important therapeutic methods for calming the Vata dosha and removing toxins from the body.
Daily routine and oil massage – Ayurvedic routine
With which oil should we massage the body?
If your constitution is cold and you’re thin with a small frame… with sweet almond oil or sesame oil.
If your constitution is cold and you’re overweight… with black seed oil or mustard oil.
If your constitution is warm… with coconut oil or olive oil.
If you suffer from chronic skin issues like eczema, hives, skin rashes, etc.… with castor oil.
Oil your whole body… massage the joints in circular and clockwise movements, and between the joints with back-and-forth strokes (for example, from the base of the wrist massage in circular and clockwise motion, and between the wrist and elbow in a back-and-forth manner).
If you generally have phlegm in the throat, catch colds frequently, and suffer from respiratory issues, don’t oil the facial and chest areas much and just massage them.
After the massage is done, go into a warm bath or under a warm shower.
Once again, massage your body in the shower. The steam from the warm water opens the skin’s pores and allows the oil to penetrate deep into the bones.
If your skin is clean, you don’t need to use soap; the surface layer of oil will be washed away with warm water, but it’s good to let the skin stay slightly oily.
If your skin isn’t clean, it’s good to exfoliate (with a loofah), and after the bath, apply a little oil to your skin.
Remember, our skin, especially in autumn, which is full of dryness, likes to stay a little oily and moist.
