Do you suffer from seasonal allergy? Do you repeatedly experience flu during cold season?
You must know that flu and allergy are equal to Kapha imbalance! When your digestive tract is full of indigested mucus, you are more prone to flu and allergies.
This indigested mucus will overflow into your respiratory system and fills your lungs and sinuses with mucus. As a result of this, your body reacts and starts showing you warning signs. These signs include itching and excessive mucus in the throat, sneezing and occasional/isolated coughing.
If you ignore these signs, don’t balance or change your diet and keep on eating Kafa food, you’ll then experience flu or allergy.
Spring and winter are the seasons in which people with genetic dominance of Kafa, or have Kafa imbalance. These people will suffer most from these symptoms.
when you suffer from flu or allergy, your body wants to discharge the toxins and mucus present in its upper part through your nostrils and throat!
In other words, your body is cleansing itself from the toxins inside it. Now in this situation you take flu or antihistamine tablets and keep on eating food which produces excess mucus in your body!
But …Do you know what happens next???
Flu and antihistamine tablets thicken the liquid mucus in your lungs and sinuses, therefore making it harder for the mucus to exit and discharge from your body. As a result, you might feel your flu or allergy has become under control but in reality you have disrupted your body’s natural cleansing process!
To help your body with its cleansing process!
… but how?
As mentioned in our previous posts, when you suffer from flu or allergy, the respiratory and digestive systems become congested with indigested mucus. Your body then tries to clean itself by discharging excess mucus through your nostrils or throat or by coughing.
*In such situation, the best thing you can do is to help your body with this cleansing process and avoid eating any kind of food which triggers mucus production!
The kind of food which produce excess mucus and fill the digestive system and therefore the respiratory system with sticky mucus include:
Carbohydrates, in particular derivatives of wheat flour (such as bread, pasta, lasagna, etc.)
**Dairy products (milk, yoghurt, cheese, Kashk, cream, sour cream, butter, clotted cream, etc.), in particular derivatives of cow’s milk
**Proteins high in fat (including beef, veal, lamb and mutton, seafood, etc.)
**Any kind of food high in fat (such as fried food, oil, avocado, nuts, etc.)
**Most sweet or very sour tasting fruits (such as grapes, fig, date, banana, plum, sour cherry, etc.)
When you are suffering from flu or allergy, even a bite of such food is so wrong! (for example eating some red meat stew with rice or eating a biscuit). Even a nite of such foods equals to swallowing a ball of mucus and adding to the pile of already indigested mucus present in your body! As a result you delay your body’s natural cleansing process.
So if all of this is not suitable when we are suffering from flu or allergy, then what’s good to eat?! You can find our domestic flu and cold remedies in Disease and Home Remedies section in our website!
